Since 1952
On Long Lake
Bala-Hy Motel and Cottages date all the way back to 1952, when our founder, Herb Farlie, started the business with three cottages on 10-plus acres of beautiful lakeside land in the picturesque town of Bala, Ontario, deep in the heart of Muskoka. To this day, the Farlie family proudly owns and operates Bala-Hy, led by Herb’s son Rob and his wife Kristan.
Over those almost seven decades, our customers have come to expect and appreciate the homestyle service they receive as guests at the cottages and motel. We take pride in the number of families who return season after season to spend part of their precious summers with us. Our history as one of the region’s longest-running accommodations is a legacy we cherish.
